The First Annual Beth Cup

One of our main goals at The Bethlehem Center is to embrace different cultures by creating environments where they are all celebrated. Putting together our first ever women’s and men’s soccer tournament, the Beth Cup, provided us another opportunity to connect with our Latinx community. Held at the Highland Park Commons, the Beth Cup had over 400 attendees and 16 teams who participated in the event. The evening was exciting not just for the teams, but for the families, fans, and vendors too!

The Creative Discovery Museum provided fun, interactive activities for the children, the Nehemiah Project gave away backpacks, and Tob.Art led an art station. Attendees were provided with free food from Dos Bros, and had the opportunity to support Frutylandia Claudia’s Market if they wanted to purchase other snacks while enjoying the event. The sweetest part was watching the children smile as they drew their national flag on the sidewalk with chalk!

The night ended under the bright lights on the soccer field with two incredible winners. Team Roma FC dominated and received the Beth Cup trophy for the women’s tournament, while the Highland Park Strangers championed their way through to receive the Beth Cup trophy for the men’s tournament. We are grateful for our Latinx community that inspires and motivates us to promote healthy living, inclusivity, and diversity!
